Siblings- A personal project.

As one of my personal projects this year I decided to document the relationship of my children as we prepared to welcome a new baby into our family. This was their last year as a duo.

Unfortunately my pregnancy was full of complications and the last 3 months of it were for the most part spent in bed. Which means I was unable to complete my project as I had originally planned. Regardless, I am so happy in how these turned out. Each image tells a story that I will be able to relate to them. Moments that would have been lost if they had not been documented. These are just as much for them as they are for me as I will be able to cherish these moments forever. From laughter to tears because this is the reality of sibling life.

These are not perfectly composed images in every technical way  but they perfectly express their personality and their relationship. A sibling relationship is a companionship for life. Like any relationship it does have its ups and downs but in the end the love and friendship between them are undeniable. It is so sweet to be able to witness the development of that bond and the beginning of a new one that will emerge as Alexis is added into the mix. I can't wait for the next years of our lives. They began 2016 as two and ended it as three.

"Sisters and brothers, are the truest, purest forms of love, family and friendship, knowing when to hold you and when to challenge you, but always being a part of you." Carol Ann Albright Eastman.
