Birthday Reflections! Rocky+Heather Edmonton couple session.
I have never liked my birthday. It has always been a sore spot. This year thou I decided to have a different approach. As my husband asked me how things were going to be this year (because it gets a little touchy for a couple of days in our household), I told him I decided to be happy that day. It only took me 37 years.
I decided to create a new tradition, I told him that my birthday present from now on is that we are doing a couple session every year around this time. Yeah, we have family pictures taken every year and we sneak a couple of images of just the two of us every time but it is not the same thing. He doesn't love to have pictures taken and it was a way I found to get compliance with no complaints. A win win situation for me. A couple of years ago we went to Vegas for a quick get away and had pictures taken, it was one of the best parts of our trip (speaking for myself).
So my advise to you is: take advantage of now. It doesn't matter if it is once a year, once every couple of years or however often you want to do it.
A couple of weeks ago I did a session for a couple that has been married for 11 years and has 5 little girls. It is so nice to immortalize "mature" love. There is a lot of work that comes after the "happily ever after" and we should celebrate it.
